Sciences: Dinosaur Den

The Dinosaur Den is among the areas of the Museum that will undergo redesign to encompass hands-on learning stations.
The Dinosaur Den is part of the Morris Museum's permanent exhibition.

Have you ever wondered what New Jersey was like in the age when dinosaurs roamed the earth? The museum’s Dinosaur Den houses some of our most well-loved exhibition materials, including real and cast fossils, reconstructed dinosaur skeletons and life-sized dinosaur models.

Here, visitors learn about the flora and fauna that were native to the state, what dinosaur tracks looked like and how paleontologists work to uncover fossils in the field. A chart demonstrates clearly just how old humans are compared to dinosaurs and other animals, and visitors can use life-sized footprints and skeletal reproductions to find out how much larger dinosaurs were than human beings.
