April 29 – June 28, 2009
Bickford & Bush/Compton Galleries
In association with
ACA Galleries and
Kraushaar Galleries,
the exhibition will
encompass a major
retrospective of
this important
movement in
American art.
From the late 19th
century through
the end of the
second world war,
American artists
moved away from
their European counterparts concentrating on
realistically depicted scenes from everyday life.
New Jersey played a prominent role in these
turbulent times and many artists left NYC to start
communities centered around art and politics. |
