Ages 6-9
Monday thru Friday, July 16 – 20, 9am – 12noon
Students will explore various methods used in sculpture such as hand building soft sculpture and simple armature for creative figures.
$180 Museum member; $200 non-member.
Ages 6-11
Monday thru Friday, July 9 – 13, 9am – 12noon
All faces, even those on a clock or a building are made up of simple shapes. Use markers, colored pencils, oil pastels, watercolor and collage to create vibrant pictures of faces of all kinds.

Monday thru Friday, August 6 – 10, 9am – 12noon
Learn about the elements of design. Line, form, color, space, texture and value are all parts of great works of art. We will look at artists such as Picasso, Monet, Klimt and many others to see how they used these elements in their wonderful works of art, and we will do the same.
$180 Member; $200 non-member.
Ages 8-11
Monday thru Friday, July 16 – 20, 10am – 1pm
Learn how to create amazing comic books like the pros! Instructor and comic book creator, Rickman, will teach you how to create awesome characters and tell an amazing story in the panels of your very own comic book! You'll write, draw, letter and produce a comic book that you will present at a special comic "convention" at the end of the week.
$180 Museum member; $200 non-member.
Ages 12-15+
Monday thru Friday, July 30 – August 3, 10am – 1pm
Learn the secrets of the comic book industry and create your own original comic book or graphic novel. Create characters with depth and dimension and tell your stories through panel-to-panel illustrations. Instructor and comic book creator, Rickman, will teach you how to write, draw and layout your own original graphic novel.
$180 Museum member; $200 non-member.
Ages 10-14
Monday thru Friday, July 23 – 27, 9am – 12noon
Explore all the possibilities that collage offers and make beautiful art. We will use decorative papers, newspapers, magazines and photographs to create both abstract and representational art. Feel free to bring your own favorite papers.

Ages 10-13
Monday thru Friday, July 30 – August 3, 9am – 12noon
Learn the fundamentals of photography and how a camera works. Photography is more than just pointing and shooting, it's a decision making process. We will be using disposable film cameras to explore our surroundings. This is a fun way to express ideas, and to learn to look carefully at the world around us. We will cover proper camera handling, basic photography techniques, photography etiquette, choosing what and when to shoot (composition), choosing what images to keep, reading a photograph, and telling a story with a photograph. $180 Museum member; $200 non-member
Ages 12-17
Monday thru Friday, June 25 – 29, 1pm – 3pm
Learn the “ins and outs” of perspective drawing while practicing on the beautiful Morris Museum and its interior spaces. Also practice drawing trees and other natural surroundings on the grounds of the museum, developing these elements into Landscape drawings.

Ages 12-17
Monday thru Friday, July 9 – 13, 12:30pm – 3pm
Learn the basics of Oil Painting. Composition will be covered while working on a still-life. Make objects appear 3-dimensional using lights, mid-tones & shadows. Learn to mix colors while color theory is discussed.
$150 Museum member; $170 non-member
Ages 12-17
Monday thru Friday, July 23 – 27, 1pm – 3pm
Explore the possibilities of drawing from life and photo references using both linear and tonal approaches. Learn about composition and creating a 3-dimensional look by using a full scale of values. Learn to draw animals from blocking in basic-shapes to the finished rendering. Portraits will be tackled with an emphasis on proportions.
$125 Museum member; $145 non-member
Ages 12-17
Monday thru Friday, August 13 – 17, 10am – 12:30pm
Learn to paint an animal while achieving an engaging likeness. Learn various techniques, including "dry-brush" to achieve the look of fur! Color mixing will be explored and practiced. Bring a couple of good photos of your dog, cat, horse, etc. to work from.
$150 Museum member; $170 non-member
