Saturday, Noon - 2:00 p.m.

Ages 5+

Free for members; non-members: $3/child plus museum admission

Families are invited to drop-in and participate in science workshops. Children will be introduced to the scientific method as they do experiments and observe the results.

July 10 Good Vibrations

Make a guitar with a box and rubber bands.

July 17 Stability

What makes buildings stable? Children will learn about the internal design of buildings while creating a structure out of spaghetti and marshmallows.

Tot Tours

The third Fridays of every month at 10:00 a.m.

Looking for something fun and educational to do with your young child? This program is for very young children and their caregivers. Activities include a mini gallery tour and an art project.

July 16 Music and Motion

Children will explore the Guinness Gallery and learn about the museum's collection of music boxes and automata. The group will listen to different instruments as they are played by a museum educator.

Photography Workshop for Teens

This is an intensive 3-day photography course for teens 13 - 18. Professional photographer Nancy Ori will discuss different photography techniques including camera handling, film selection, and exposure. Subject matter, composition, and lighting will also be discussed. Students will work in both color and black and white photography. There will be assignments for each session, and the program will conclude with a critique of the works produced. Students should bring their cameras and instruction booklets to the first class. Watercolor with

W. Carl Burger

Pale Afternoon, W. Carl Burger

W. Carl Burger, master watercolorist and professor emeritus of Fine Art at Kean University, will share his unique and adventurous approaches to watercolor. Burger will demonstrate his techniques and work with participants as they sketch and paint. All skill levels welcome. Participants must bring their own supplies; a materials list will be provided upon registration. Light morning refreshments will be served. Registration is required. Narrative Memoir Writing with Lou Alexander

Saturday, August 7, 10 a.m. - noon

Everyone has a story to tell! Have you ever wanted to start writing down your personal recollections to leave a legacy for your family or start a narrative memoir, but weren't sure how? Lou Alexander, a retired New Jersey teacher and current Adjunct Professor of Education at Rutgers, Seton Hall, and Fairleigh Dickinson University, will take you through the steps of memoir writing and becoming a self-published author. Alexander has written his own memoir, Echoes from a Small Country Town, about growing up through the 1930's and 1940's in Lake George, New York.

Senior Fridays

1 p.m.

Free with museum admission

Visit the Morris Museum for an early afternoon of art and conversation with the museum staff. Each program will include a highlights tour through a featured exhibition, engaging discussion in the galleries, and light refreshments. Pre-registration is not required.
