| Friends of the Morris Museum | Volunteers
Founded in 1985, The Friends of the Morris Museum is an auxiliary
group that provides fundraising support to the Morris Museum.
Friends promote the mission of the Morris Museum through benefit
events and activities that encourage membership and increase
the visibility of museum programs.
The Friends plan and organize various events and projects each
year including:
- Holiday Open House, Winter
- Teddy Bear Tea, Winter
- Kaleidoscope, Fall
- Old Bags LadiesLuncheon, Spring
These events have enabled The Friends to make significant contributions
to the Morris
Museum. Over the years, they have funded exhibitions, donated new
lighting and benches for the galleries, refurbished the Dodge Room
and Children’s Room, and purchased mannequins and computers
for the museum.
The Friends meet during the day on the second Monday of the month
from September to May at the museum. Meetings, held from 11 a.m.
to 1 p.m., begin with a short business agenda followed by a program
and a light lunch. Programs may include private tours of museum
exhibitions or previews of new collections. Members of the Friends
meet exhibiting artists and enjoy lectures by renowned experts.
Guests are welcome to attend the meeting and program. The cost is $10/meeting for non-members.
Please check back for information about Fall/Winter programs.
The Friends have 120 members and are always looking for additional
members with new ideas. Membership is open to anyone interested
in joining the Morris Museum and supporting the Friends and their
fundraising activities. Annual dues are $35 plus the cost of
your museum membership. Please call the Friends office at 973.971.3733
or e-mail friends@morrismuseum.org for a membership registration
form.

an end-of-the-year celebration. |
The Morris Museum is fortunate to have talented and loyal volunteers
who are a vital part of the museum’s organization. Individuals
are trained through the volunteer program for positions that utilize
their skills and interests to further the mission of the museum.
The program ensures that volunteers have a positive work experience
and provides recognition for their valuable contributions of time
and talent to the museum.
Volunteers serve in various capacities associated with exhibitions,
performances, educational programs and visitor services. All volunteers
are asked to become members of the Morris Museum.
